Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using any application or service provided by R. M. Burgess ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our apps or services.

Our Apps

These terms apply to all R. M. Burgess apps and services, including:

  • LedgerCast — a financial forecasting app for tracking balances, bills, paychecks, and one-time entries over a 5-year horizon. Available on iOS and the web.
  • Shattered Prism — an arcade runner game featuring obstacles, enemies, upgrades, and global leaderboards. Available on iOS.

All apps share a unified account system. Creating an account in one app grants access to all R. M. Burgess apps.

Accounts

To use most features, you must create an account using one of our supported sign-in methods (email OTP, Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or Facebook Login). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use our apps for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our apps
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of our apps
  • Use automated tools to scrape or collect data from our services
  • Submit false or misleading information to leaderboards or shared features

Intellectual Property

All content, code, graphics, and designs in our apps are owned by R. M. Burgess and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our apps without written permission.

User Data

You retain ownership of the data you enter into our apps. We handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for maintaining backups of any important data.

In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Some apps may offer in-app purchases or subscriptions. Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and refund policies. We do not directly process payments.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen of any R. M. Burgess app. Deleting your account will permanently remove all your data across all R. M. Burgess apps and delete your authentication record. This action is irreversible.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Our apps are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that our apps will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

LedgerCast is a planning and forecasting tool only. It does not provide financial advice. You should not rely solely on LedgerCast for financial decisions.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, R. M. Burgess shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of our apps.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless R. M. Burgess from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our apps or violation of these terms.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, nothing in these terms affects your rights under applicable EU consumer protection or data protection laws, including the GDPR.
